ᛟ · The meaning behind the design
Symbols carried, not borrowed.
In Scandinavian folk belief the tomte (nisse or julenisse in Norway) is the small bearded guardian of the farm, thanked on Christmas Eve with a bowl of rice porridge and butter. The yule goat — julebukk in Norway, julbock in Sweden — is one of the oldest Christmas symbols of the North, remembered in later tradition alongside Thor's goats and in the custom of julebukking. Together they mark the oldest Scandinavian Christmas traditions still kept in Norwegian and Swedish homes.
