This design pairs two of the most recognized Norse protective symbols. The Vegvisir, or Viking 'wayfinder', is most often traced to Viking Age folk magic and the 19th-century Icelandic Huld Manuscript; its eight branching arms are traditionally described as helping the bearer find their way through difficult or uncertain conditions. Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, was worn across the Viking world as an amulet of protection and blessing, and remains one of the most widely recognized symbols of Norse strength. Together, the chest and cuffs carry guidance on one side and protection on the other.
