Symbols carried, not borrowed.
Mjölnir is Thor's hammer, a symbol of protection and blessing, and small hammer pendants were genuinely worn across the Viking world, many in the 10th century. The Vegvisir, often called the Viking compass, comes from an Icelandic manuscript compiled in 1860 and is meant to keep its bearer from losing their way in storms. Yggdrasil is the great ash at the centre of Norse cosmology, described in the 13th-century Eddas, whose roots and branches connect the nine worlds. Together these designs join strength with guidance, and strength with roots.
