ᛏᚨᛏᛏᛟᛟ · Fenrir
Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda tells how the gods raised Fenrir until he grew too strong and frightening. Only the dwarf-made ribbon Gleipnir could hold him, and the god Týr lost his hand in the wolf's jaws when the gods tricked him into being bound.
At Ragnarök, Fenrir breaks loose and kills Odin, and is then killed by Odin's son Víðarr. Thorwald's Cross on the Isle of Man is often read as showing this scene.
Untamed strength, defiance, and breaking the chains that hold you back. Broken chains are a modern favourite.

Strength, defiance and freedom, often shown with broken chains.
Neither, simply. He is a feared monster who kills Odin, but many people see him as a symbol of a wronged, untamed force.
