ᛏᚨᛏᛏᛟᛟ · Odin
In Hávamál, Odin tells how he hung on the windswept tree for nine nights, wounded by a spear, and took up the runes. Snorri Sturluson tells how he gave one eye to drink from Mímir's well of wisdom.
He is shown with his ravens Huginn and Muninn, his wolves Geri and Freki, his eight-legged horse Sleipnir and his spear Gungnir. A 10th-century carved stone on the Isle of Man, Thorwald's Cross, is often read as Odin with a raven on his shoulder, being swallowed by the wolf Fenrir at Ragnarök.
Wisdom, sacrifice for knowledge, leadership and facing fate with open eyes.
