ᛏᚨᛏᛏᛟᛟ · Yggdrasil
The poems Völuspá and Grímnismál, and Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, describe Yggdrasil as a vast ash. Its roots reach to wells such as Urd's well, where the Norns shape fate; an eagle sits at its top, the dragon Níðhöggr gnaws its roots, and the squirrel Ratatoskr carries messages between them.
No certain picture of Yggdrasil survives from the Viking Age, so every Yggdrasil design is a modern interpretation of those descriptions.
Connection, growth, family roots and fate: everything linked to everything else.

Connection between all things, growth, family roots and fate.
It is often called the Norse tree of life, but in the myths it is a world tree holding the nine worlds together, a specifically Norse idea.
